PROPERTY TAX REDUCTIONS
As home values continue to decrease in several Bay Area markets, many homeowners are eligible for a property tax reduction (called a Proposition 8 tax reduction). To qualify for a property tax reduction, homeowners must show that their homes are now worth less than the current assessed value. Providing the County Assessors Office with a current market value appraisal can bolster a homeowner's case for reassessment.
